Benefits of Hatha Yoga

Warrior 2There are many physical and mental benefits to be gained from a well structured regular Hatha yoga practice.

Physically Hatha yoga can lengthen, tone and strengthen the muscles as well as improve flexibility and reduce body fat.  During a Hatha yoga practice awareness is brought to how you sit, stand and breathe, this awareness will improve posture.

Some yoga postures open the chest area, when combined with deep breathing techniques used in Hatha yoga these postures will improve lung capacity and increase oxygen levels. Increased levels of oxygen in the body will allow the organs to function more efficiently.

Practicing yoga postures massages, tones and stimulates the internal organs, increases circulation and aids lymphatic drainage. All help to remove toxins from the body which raises energy levels and promotes good health.

Mentally Hatha yoga provides an opportunity for practitioners to clear their minds, this helps to relieve stress and balance emotions. Yoga allows you to focus the mind and encourages mental stillness, in today’s busy world it is not often that the mind is able to rest.

It is because of these benefits that yoga is so popular.  It is used by people from all walks of life who want to look and feel better.  Yoga is also becoming increasingly popular with sports professionals who use it to increase their physical and mental strength in order to optimise their performance.

Hatha yoga is also very useful as a form of rehabilitation after injury, illness and trauma.  It also helps to manage many conditions including Hypertension, Stress, Sciatica, Depression, IBS, Asthma, Insomnia, PMT and Migraines.

Our Beginners Yoga Class CD’s & MP3 Downloads and Beginners Yoga Flowing Sequence Class CD & MP3 Downloads provide a practical, easy to follow, effective and varied introduction to yoga for those with little or no experience. They are an ideal way to learn and practice yoga with expert tuition whenever and wherever you choose.  For those with more yoga experience our Improvers Yoga Class & CD’s & MP3 Downloads  and Improvers Flowing Sequence Class CD & MP3 Downloads provide appropriate, easy to follow and effective expert tuition that can be used whenever and wherever you choose.

Our entire range of our yoga classes are practical and easy to follow, they allow everyone to experience and enjoy the many benefits of yoga wherever and whenever they choose. All of our classes are devised and narrated by Sue Fuller, a leading yoga teacher, writer, presenter and resident yoga expert for Natural Health Magazine, who has studied and taught yoga around the world for over 15 years. Sue is also the author of the British School of Yoga’s Advanced Hatha Yoga and Pre & Postnatal Teacher Training Courses. On each of our CD’s & MP3 Downloads Sue’s clear verbal instruction is complemented by relaxing music that sets a perfect mood for the class. Each CD & MP3 Download class comes complete with a yoga guide booklet that highlights the instructions, provides a series of reference photos for each yoga posture should you need a visual reference and gives useful tips on how to get the most from the class.

Benefits of Prenatal Yoga

There are many benefits to be gained from a regular prenatal yoga practice, these benefits are experienced throughout the entire pregnancy, during labour and after giving birth.  Prenatal yoga is becoming increasingly popular, many midwives recommend Hatha yoga to expectant mothers as a safe and effective form of exercise.

Prenatal yoga will enhance relaxation, encourage a healthy sleep pattern, help control mood swings, ease and prevent joint swelling and nausea, enable the mother to bond with her developing foetus, strengthen and lengthen the muscles used in giving birth, help the body to recover after birth and reduce the risk of postnatal depression.

Our Prenatal Yoga CD & MP3 Download offers a safe and supportive Hatha yoga class suitable for use during the entire pregnancy. The class is suitable for women with and without any previous yoga experience. The class is devised and narrated by Sue Fuller, a leading yoga teacher, writer, presenter and resident yoga expert for Natural Health Magazine, who has studied and taught yoga around the world for over 15 years. Sue is also the author of the British School of Yoga’s Advanced Hatha Yoga and Pre & Postnatal Teacher Training Courses. She developed our Prenatal class during her first pregnancy and has combined her expert knowledge with her own experiences to create a class that is both practical and effective.

Benefits of Postnatal Yoga

Hatha yoga is an ideal form of postnatal exercise, it helps the body to recover after birth and reduces the risk of postnatal depression.  A carefully devised postnatal class should be gentle, effective, relaxing and will revitalise both body and mind.

Postnatal yoga can improve muscle tone and shape around the hips and stomach and re-align the lower back after the months of adapted posture caused by carrying your child.  It can also help to reduce body fat, refresh and calm the mind and relieve stress and tension.

Our Postnatal Yoga CD & MP3 Download contains two separate 30 minute Hatha yoga classes specifically devised for use after pregnancy. The classes are suitable for women with and without any previous yoga experience. The short classes are easy to fit in around a new arrival and offer realistic, effective and achievable yoga practices that will help your body recover from pregnancy and birth. The classes are devised and narrated by Sue Fuller a pre and postnatal yoga expert who developed both classes after the birth of her first child.
